Rocky Point, Mexico
The lovely view of the beach from the balcony patio of our condo. Our friends let us have the beach side bedroom and it was really nice.
Rocky Point, Mexico
This is the view just outside our door looking towards the city center of Rocky Point. The restaurant that we had lunch at upon our arrival in Rocky Point is at the end of that little spit of land.

The beach at low tide offered lots of places to explore. It was the first time that I ever got to see the tide go in and out over several days.

The pattern from the tide going out. I wondered why the little ridges formed. The packed sand was very nice for walking and very clean.

Our intrepid explorers walk the beach looking for sea shells, a beer and some breakfast. The weather was about as perfect as you could get.

As the tide headed out, these tiny green worms wiggled across the beach. There were lots of sea critters to see as the more beach was exposed. From our condo, our accompanying fighter pilot was able to spot dolphins in the bay. Cool!

Rocky Point, Mexico
While the trip to Rocky Point was an uneventful one, it was nice to see signs indicating we were nearing the border. A running gun battle in Sonoyta the day before we came almost scuttled our plans. The US side of the border had been closed for half a day as two Mexican drug gangs battled it out.

"Table Dance Mamacitas" were the highlight attraction at the Parrot Bay Showclub just off the main street of Rocky Point. This is obviously designed for the tourists.
