(Paul was attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at the time of his death, which was caused by a burst appendix. I had just gotten home from the opening day Brewers game when I received the call from his family. Paul had what they thought was the flu and had collapsed when he got up from having breakfast that morning. Paul's passing was shocking for us all. April 13th, 1973, was a Friday, and both my father and my mother's mom had died on April 13th. )
