Leonard W. Reiter, 66, of 4505 Homan Creek Drive, Quincy, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at his family farm near Canton, Mo.
He was born on July 4, 1950, in Quincy, a son of the late J. Delbert and Mildred Adair Reiter. He married Mary Leiskau on Oct. 1, 1982. She survives.
He was a graduate of Unity High School and Spoon River Community College.
Mr. Reiter worked at Forklifts of Quincy. Leonard was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
He was an outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed his hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a loving husband and a great dad and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by five children, Adam Reiter and his wife Casey of Plymouth, Minn., Holly Luetkenhaus and her husband Anthony of Stillwater, Okla., Alex Reiter and his wife Leigh of St. Louis, Mo., and Austin Reiter and Aaron Reiter both of Paloma; one grandchild, Asher Reiter; and one sister, Judy Tarkington.
Leonard was also preceded in death by his brother, John Reiter.
SERVICES: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mendon Cemetery.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund to purchase trees to be planted at the family farm.
